CRR Week 2026: Community Risk Reduction in Action

Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Week is a nationwide effort to reduce risk before emergencies happen. At East Pierce Fire & Rescue, prevention is part of our mission year-round—but during CRR Week, we’re putting extra focus on the simple steps you can take to protect your family, your home, and your community.

Below, you’ll find this year’s highlights—each with practical tools, free services, or hands-on training.

Smoke Alarms

Working smoke alarms more than double your chances of surviving a home fire. We offer free alarms and installation with 10-year batteries.

Community Connect

Help first responders help you. Community Connect is a secure platform where you can share vital information—like medical needs, pets, or access instructions—for emergencies.

Child Passenger Safety

Car seats only work if they’re installed correctly. Our certified technicians offer free car seat checks to make sure your little ones are riding safely.

Fire Extinguisher Training

Having an extinguisher isn’t enough—you need to know how to use it. We offer free, group fire extinguisher training to build confidence before a real emergency.

CPR, AED, and First Aid training

When seconds count, what you do before help arrives can save a life. Our Heartsaver First Aid and CPR/AED classes teach you how to respond with confidence.

Wildfire Prevention

Landscaping choices matter. Fire-resistant plants and proper spacing around your home can help reduce wildfire risk.
