EPFR Awarded $5.2 Million SAFER Grant

BREAKING NEWS!

East Pierce Fire & Rescue was awarded the SAFER (Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response) grant through FEMA.

This grant provides:

    • 12 firefighters
    • Funding for 3 years – $5,267,328
    • 100% federal funding (no local match)

Personnel must be hired within six months. We are currently recruiting for Firefighter/EMT’s that are anticipated to start February of 2023.

The grant award is a huge win for the District and Tehaleh communities as staffing Station 117 in Tehaleh was the basis for the grant request.
